Director statement.png

« Foutoir Céleste » is a Neo-Pagan, volcanic, and wild circus celebration—inspired by the oldest festivals in the world: those that have always been tied to the cycles of birth, death, and renewal. Those that honor all that is fragile, cyclical… and powerful.

This show is a ritual.

A ritual entirely invented and created by women and men who take the time to celebrate their vulnerability,as a way to always remember it is part of what makes us human.
A celebration of uncertainty and risk—to remind us to never, ever surrender entirely to safety.
A ceremony to delight in the fact that we are not all-powerful gods. A collective consolation. A primal acceptance.
A great bonfire to burn away our desire for invincibility.

Somewhere between trance, rite of passage, and all-night revelry,
we invite you to celebrate beginnings and endings,
births and deaths, failures and triumphs!

« Their frenzy, their fire and their energy define both this tight-knit troupe led by Sara Desprez and Angelos Matsakis, and the state their audience is left in after experiencing Foutoir Céleste. Known for their rock-infused, unbridled spirit, this new creation carries the same explosive energy, while opening up a more humanistic reflection—deepened by the performers’ stunning virtuosity. A captivating and contagiously human performance. »

Nathalie Yokel - Journal La Terrasse

« With a fierce, dizzying ability to form a pack, Foutoir Céleste by Cirque Exalté captivates. On the ring, in front of and behind the audience, they conjure up an antidote to fear. »
Nadja Pobel - sceneweb.fr
